Educational Program and Practice
Each child is unique, with God-given strengths and their abilities are to be celebrated.
We will facilitate children’s learning through thoughtful decisions and actions and incorporate their interests, ideas through play and intentional teaching.
We value play-based learning as the core of our pedagogy. This play allows children to discover, create, imagine and challenge each other’s thinking while building new understandings. We will foster the children’s love of learning, love for themselves, love for others and the environment, to express empathy and discover independence.
Guided by the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF) and the Queensland Kindergarten Learning Guidelines (QKLG), educators develop a foundation for children’s future success in their learning.
Children’s Health and Safety
We shall provide an environment where the children’s health and safety is paramount, enabling educators and children to engage and explore while meeting the needs of each individual child. We believe in providing the children with a safe, supportive and nurturing environment so that they can thrive.

Physical Environment
We value the natural world and encourage children to explore, extend and experiment in their learning through respectful and sustainable practices. Children have ownership of their play area as we value the environment as the third teacher. God has given us this world as a gift and we must take care of it.

Staffing Arrangements
We believe in supporting the children’s learning through strength-based teams that work collaboratively and respectfully and challenge each other’s learning. Providing strength-based teams will allow children to experience high quality education and care.

Relationships with Children
We believe in building positive, respectful relationships with children through collaboration and scaffolding their learning. We shall support the children in feeling secure, confident and included by building trusting, meaningful relationships. We will provide the children with the support they need to self-regulate through positive language and modelling appropriate responses.

Collaborative Partnerships with families and communities
We value and engage in respectful, collaborative partnerships with families to provide a supportive community. We believe in walking alongside families in their decision making about their child’s learning, through compassion and understanding to the whole family, not just the child in our care. We will provide current information and resources to care for everyone’s wellbeing within our community. We will work in conjunction with the Immanuel Lutheran College and established community relationships and engagements that will provide the children with a strong sense of belonging to a wider community and to maximise the children’s potential.

Governance and Leadership
We will provide a quality centre that has children’s development and learning at the heart of our operations. To build support and connections with families by providing an environment where we respect and value all cultures, heritage, backgrounds and traditions. We believe that all stakeholders have input into the centre and the education provided. We endeavour through continuous self-reflection and assessment to improve practices and processes in the centre to benefit the children’s learning.
